Will I go here again by myself?
Whether it’s looking for love, buying heartache on dating apps, whether the guy is sober or slipping into singlehood, the stars can tell how long you’ll spend in the sacred space of celibacy.
Hellenistic astrologer Ivy Underwood, aka @0degreesTaurus, points to what she calls “forever single placement” in your birth chart. These qualifiers show that “It will probably take you a long time to find your person, or you won’t get married for a while.”
What are these so-called forever single placements and do you have them? Read on to learn more.
Rising of Leo and Cancer
As Ivywood explains, “Leo and Cancer risings experience long periods of singleness because Saturn rules your house of relationships, meaning you’d rather be single than waste your time with people who aren’t marriage material.”
As a refresher, the seventh house is the house of partnership, also known as the marriage box. It represents our legally binding attachments.
Thus, having a strict and time-consuming father looming around is something of an oppressive rain cloud over the old white picket fence.
Saturn is formative, but not necessarily “fun,” which means that when it comes to marriage, you’re less likely to mess around and find out with a questionable partner—and more likely to stand firm for the rock.
Meanwhile, in the mud and muck, young Leos tend to choose partners who look good, but not necessarily good. ABOUT those, and Cancer risings tend to go to people who need them in some way – a broken arm/codependent scene that leaves them ragged and resentful.
Both rising signs are meant to learn and eventually rise above these trends. Bless you, baby!
Saturn in the seventh house
Like having a seventh house ruled by Saturn, having the planet itself there can equate to a waiting game.
Underwood explains: “If you have Saturn in the seventh house, then you probably won’t find your true love for a while. People with Saturn here are usually late lovers and you need some time to commit.”
Better to wait for gold than settle for tin, folks.
Saturn afflicts Venus
Saturn is the planet of limitations, delays and karmic debts, and Venus is the planet of love and partnership. Thus, when these two form a challenging aspect to each other, the love game can be long and fraught.
As Underwood explains, “If you have Saturn square Venus or Saturn opposite Venus, you probably won’t find your one true love for a while. Even if you’re in a relationship, you may find that these people aren’t marriage material and you don’t want to be with them long-term.”
Many astrologers suggest that those with challenging Venus/Saturn placements are better off waiting until their Saturn cusp returns to marry.
But long-term or short-term, divorced, bloody, blood-sworn or just happily single, it’s all a love story, folks.
Am I doomed?
Absolutely not.
These aspects do not mean that you will never find love or that you are doomed to be alone, but they suggest that love will take its sweet and bitter time and will likely teach you lessons that force you to grow – and maybe exchange when it comes to partners.
Plus, as anyone who’s ever waited in line for a great pastry can tell you, the longer the wait, the merrier the booty.
Underwood assures, “These are only general guidelines, and dozens of other placements in your chart can change your destiny.”
And since no amount of pain or purpose is without reward, Underwood promises, “The good news is when you finally find your person, you’re together for life.”
And to be fair, people, at the rate at which human beings fail each other, a fate of the best singles and satisfied, committed and complacent every time.
